Newark Symphonic Winds’ Holiday Concert 2025

The NSW played their annual holiday concert on December 13, 2025 at the Newark Memorial High School Theatre. The concert featured holiday classics such as ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, Sleigh Ride, and some caroling by the audience. The band also played some new tunes, such as Fantasia on “Greensleeves” and a Cowboy Christmas. There was even an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus at the concert!

To conclude its first season, the Newark Symphonic Winds is holding a summer concert on Saturday. The symphony’s fifth concert since it was formed a year ago features a variety of music, from George Gershwin, Elvis Presley and John Phillip Sousa to bagpipes. The 40-member symphony will also be paying a special tribute to veterans and members of the U.S. armed forces. Read the complete story.

NEWARK — For more than a decade, Manuel Garcia has found opportunities to perform in a band. But as he prepares to graduate from San Jose State University — and bid farewell to the school’s marching band — Garcia must look for a new venue to showcase his artistic talents.
